This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you use our website, customer dashboard, mobile applications and support services.

1. Information we collect
Depending on the features you use, we may collect the following information.
Account information
Your name, email address, account identifier, sign-in method and account preferences.
If you sign in through Google, Facebook or another supported provider, we receive the information that provider shares with your permission, such as your name, email address and provider account identifier. We do not receive your social sign-in password.
Financial information you enter
Information you choose to record, including:
-
Assets, investments, cash and account labels.
-
Bill and debt names, balances, interest rates and payment amounts.
-
Due dates, recurring schedules and scheduled payment counts.
-
Income, budgets, spending categories and recorded expenses.
-
Notes, financial history and saved snapshots.
These records may reveal sensitive information about your financial circumstances. Enter only the information needed to use the Service.
Support and bug reports
Messages, optional cancellation feedback, screenshots and other information you submit when contacting us or reporting a problem.
Screenshots may contain personal information. Remove information that is unnecessary for resolving your request.
Technical information
Information needed to operate, secure and troubleshoot the Service, which may include IP address, browser or device type, operating system, application version, error reports and timestamps.
Notification information
Your reminder preferences and, where applicable, device notification tokens or browser push subscription identifiers needed to deliver enabled notifications.
Location-based currency and saved preferences
When a new customer dashboard is created, we use country-level information derived from your IP address by our hosting provider to select a supported default currency. If your location is unavailable or its currency is unsupported, we default to USD. This feature does not request GPS access or store your IP address or country in your financial tracker.
Your currency settings are saved with your account. If you select a different currency, we remember your choice across later visits and signed-in devices. Changes to your location or network do not automatically override your saved preference.
2. Why we use your information
We use personal information to:
-
Create and authenticate your account.
-
Store and display your financial records.
-
Calculate dashboard summaries and budgeting information.
-
Deliver reminders and service communications you enable.
-
Respond to support requests and investigate bugs.
-
Maintain security, prevent abuse and diagnose technical problems.
-
Comply with applicable legal obligations.
Any optional marketing or materially different use of personal information will be explained separately, with consent obtained where required.
3. Consent and your choices
By submitting information to use a feature, you request that we process that information for the purposes explained for that feature and in this Policy.
Where required, we obtain additional consent for optional uses or the handling of sensitive information. Consent to optional marketing is separate from accepting our Terms and Conditions.
You may withdraw consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, by contacting us. We will explain any effect this has on features that require the information.
You can also control supported notification settings within the Service or through your device.
4. When we share information
We may share the information necessary to provide the Service with providers that support:
-
Website and application hosting.
-
Database storage and account authentication.
-
Email delivery and notifications.
-
Technical maintenance and support.
These providers are authorized to handle information for the services they supply to us, subject to applicable contractual and legal requirements.
Providers currently used: Wix for website services; Google and Facebook for optional account sign-in; and Apple for applicable iOS app distribution and platform services. Each provider handles information relevant to its role under its own privacy policy. The customer dashboard and mobile apps may also use separate hosting, storage or notification providers; those should be included once verified.
We may also disclose information where required or permitted by law, to respond to lawful requests, or where reasonably necessary to address fraud, security threats or threats to personal safety.
If the business is sold or reorganized, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable privacy requirements. We will provide notice where required.
5. Third-party sign-in
Google, Facebook and other sign-in providers handle information under their own privacy policies.
Financial Dayglow receives only the information made available through the applicable integration. Using a sign-in provider does not give us general access to your email inbox or social media account.
6. Reminders and notification privacy
Enabled reminders may include a bill or debt name, payment amount and due date.
Depending on your device settings, that information may appear on a lock screen or another visible notification surface. Review your notification preview settings if you want to limit what others can see.
Reminder delivery depends on your saved records, permissions, device settings and service availability. You can disable reminders without deleting your financial records.
7. Cookies and local device storage
The website and applications may use cookies, local storage or similar technologies to maintain sign-in sessions, remember preferences and support essential functionality.
Blocking or deleting these technologies may affect sign-in and saved preferences.
Where optional analytics or advertising technologies are used, they help us understand website usage, improve our services or measure marketing performance. Where required by law, we request consent before enabling these technologies and provide a way to manage or withdraw that consent.
8. Where information is processed
Financial Dayglow serves customers worldwide. Personal information may be processed by our service providers in Canada or other countries and may be subject to the laws of those locations. We remain responsible for personal information under our control and take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards when providers handle it.
9. How long we retain information
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, resolve disputes and meet applicable legal obligations.
You may request account deletion by contacting us.
Following account closure or a verified deletion request, we delete or anonymize information that is no longer needed. Certain transaction, support or security records may be retained where necessary for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution purposes.
Deleted information may remain temporarily in backups until those backups are overwritten or expire. Any retained personal information remains subject to applicable privacy safeguards.
If we cannot fully fulfil a deletion request, we will explain the reason and any applicable retention requirements.
10. Security
We use safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we handle, including measures intended to limit unauthorized access.
No online service can guarantee complete security. Protect your sign-in credentials, secure your devices and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
Do not include passwords, verification codes, complete payment card numbers or banking credentials in support messages or screenshots.
11. Access, correction and deletion
Subject to applicable law, you may request:
-
Access to personal information we hold about you.
-
Correction of inaccurate information.
-
Information about how your information has been used or disclosed.
-
Account closure and deletion of information we no longer need to retain.
-
Withdrawal of consent for applicable uses.
You can edit supported financial records and preferences within the dashboard. For other requests, contact the privacy email listed above.
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. We will request only the information reasonably necessary for verification and respond within applicable legal timelines.
Where a request cannot be fully fulfilled, we will explain the reason and available options.
Deleting the application from your device does not delete your account. Account deletion should be completed through the available account controls or by contacting us.
12. Children’s privacy
Financial Dayglow is intended for adults aged 18 and over.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
13. External links
The Service may link to websites or services operated by others. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
Review those policies before providing personal information to an external service.
14. Privacy incidents and complaints
If you have a privacy concern, believe information has been exposed or want to make a complaint, contact our privacy contact.
We will investigate and respond as appropriate. Where legally required, we will notify affected individuals and the relevant regulator of a privacy breach.
You may also raise concerns with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or another applicable privacy regulator.
15. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the Service or our practices change. The effective date will identify the current version.
We will provide notice of material changes and obtain additional consent where required before using information for a new purpose.
